====== Q-Power Regulator ====== Q-Power Regulator was designed by [[qlwiki:SPEM]] and sold by [[qlwiki:Sandy]]. It is a plug in replacement for the 5 volt internal regulator which generated the heat behind the microdrive housing and could cause lockups on expanded QL. Fitted in minutes with just a screwdriver, it provided a high frequency switching output for cooler trouble free running. {{qlwiki:qpower_regulator.jpg?direct&240x194|Sandy Qpower Regulator}} While fine with older interfaces, this was known not to work with the Gold Card, which needed a surge of power at switch-on which was dampened by this regulator. **WARNING:** We have seen at least two models of this regulator and certainly at least one of these has a tendency to overheat and may catch fire!
